About company
Degordian Group is a dynamic and innovative digital marketing agency established in 2009, with a presence across multiple geographies and a reputation for delivering innovative and effective solutions.
With offices spanning multiple locations and a portfolio that includes specialized sub-brands like Builtt, Enstring, Ahelon, and Boiler, Degordian is more than just an agency—it’s a hub of creativity and growth. Operating in a fast-paced industry known for high turnover and competitive demands, Degordian’s focus is on cultivating a people-first culture that attracts and retains top talent.
The challenge
Like many agencies, Degordian faced a significant challenge with employee turnover, a common issue in the marketing and technology sectors. High employee turnover isn’t just a statistic—it’s a ripple effect that impacts the entire organization.
It not only disrupts project continuity but also incurs costs in recruitment and training while impacting overall morale and culture. The company recognized the need for a solution that could provide deep insights into employee satisfaction, engagement, and sentiment—while enabling actionable strategies to address underlying concerns.
Our solution
In 2022, Degordian implemented Luppa, a tool to measure employee satisfaction and engagement. What began as an internal tool quickly evolved into a market-ready product for other organizations to improve workplace cultures. Luppa introduced a structured approach to understanding employee sentiment, with monthly Pulse surveys providing real-time insights and quarterly reviews helping managers and HR identify trends and act on them.
Transparency was central, with employees assured of data privacy and encouraged to share honest feedback, knowing results would be openly discussed and acted upon. HR teams and managers used Luppa’s insights to create tailored action plans, which were regularly reviewed to track progress or adjust priorities.
While Luppa played a significant role in tracking and addressing engagement, Degordian paired it with a comprehensive strategy focused on developing people and cultivating culture. Managers were central to this approach, participating in structured development discussions and aligning team goals with company objectives. Initiatives like monthly Quality Time (QT) meetings between employees and managers, annual one-on-ones with HR, and open-door sessions with the CEO reinforced trust and transparency.
This holistic approach ensured the insights from Luppa became part of an ongoing conversation about improving the workplace, driven by leadership commitment and employee involvement. The results were clear:
- Turnover dropped significantly, moving from an upper-average rate of 16.5% in 2022—amid office restructurings—to 13.3% in 2023, and further to 9.3% in 2024, firmly entering the below-average category for turnover in the marketing industry.
- Employees reported higher engagement and satisfaction scores in 1:1s with managers and HR.
- Transparency around survey results attracted like-minded talent, further strengthening Degordian’s culture.
Degordian’s success highlights the power of tools like Luppa. By integrating it into their processes, Degordian addressed high turnover and built a supportive workplace culture. This combination of technology, leadership commitment, and a people-first approach proves that employee engagement is about creating an environment where people feel valued and supported.
